Date July 29, 1985 Statement of: Joe Zdarko
This guy was over beside V&J's & I went over to see what was going on so I went over & they said he got a gun so I ran, & He got me between a car & truck & said Fuck with me now & I said I was just watching he pointed the gun at me & went on top of the car & walked acrossed I thought he was going to shoot me. But I said I didn't do anything & he said get walking
& kicked me in the face & said get walking & I got up & started to walk
& he hit me with the end of the gun in the back of the neck
& I keeped walking & got around firestone & went to Crossetts & called the police after that I walked back up to get my car & I waited there for a while & then I went to the hospital after that I came over here to fill out my statement.

STATEMENT OF: Ronald E. Haskins P.O. Box 473
Larry and I were standing at Kwik fill and the man yell "hey stupid come here" me and Larry walked over to the parking lot across the street to see what he wanted and he started to start a fight with me and I said I didn't want to fight and then he started walking back to Kwikfill with us he then started it again and then that is when everyone else came back and walked over and then he ran to his house. Larry and I went back to Kwik fill and then everyone came running back yelling "he has a gun"
Bryan, Justin, and I, jumped in Bryan's car and we seen him come around the corner by V&J he ran across the street after Joe and chased him around the car and was saying something
and then he hit him and then Bryan, Justin and I drove over to the police station and when we got back he was gone.

STATEMENT OF: Scott Boyer
I was with Joe Zdarko we stop at Kwill fill when a guy proseeded to harass Ron Haskins he took off toward his house and came back out of the house with a rifle and started to chase us. he caught Joe and hit him in the back of the head and kick him in the head
and told him to start walking strait (sic) down the road then he saw Me (sic) and started to chase me and I lost him and the (sic) was the last I seen of him.

STATEMENT OF: Justin Morse 105 Dartmouth St. 723-3299
Me and Mike Swanson were sitting in V&J Pizza when we saw Ron Haskins, Bryan Cordner, Scott Boyer & Larry Cole & Joe Zdarko walking across the street from kwik fill towards that guy so we walked out and that guy ran to his house. Me, Mike and Bryan walked towards towards the guys' house and he ran inside and came back out with a gun so we all ran up to the cars and he (the guy with the gun) chased Joe Zdarko over by this car in Firestone parking lot. The guy jumped up on top of this car and jumped back down on top of Joe and kicked him in the head and then told Joe to start walking
and then he hit Joe in the back and the back of the head with the gun
so me, Ron and Bryan went to the police station and got you guys and went back.

I pulled into Kwik Fill with Joe S. and Ron Haskins was walking across with Larry Cole so we walked over by V and J's this guy was asking Ron Haskins to step behind the truck - this guy said you guys aren't going to jump in the fight are you, and we said no so this guy started running down the street so we started walking after him and we seen him standing on the porch so we kept walking and I heard a door shut so we just turned around and started walking back and one of them said he's got a gun so we got the hell out of there and I was in behind one of the other guys and he (the drunk)
was clicking the gun right on my ass so we ran around the corner of V.Js tell everybody that he had a gun got in the car and
kept my ass down
so we came to the police station while he had Joe S. with gun.

STATEMENT OF: Michael S. Swanson
Ron Haskins was asked by the dude to fight & Ron said yes, then me and Justin Morse and Brian walked down Schantz St. to his house and he was on the porch then came out with a rifle, cocked it and started running after us. I got on a bike and was riding towards South St, turned around and I saw him duck down beside a car in front of V&J and it looked like he aimed it at me so I turned down South St. and that's all I saw.

my friends were outside Kwik Fill fixing my car mirror. I went outside and looked at it when they were finished we started walking back into the store when we heard a man yell "Hey you, stupid, come over here!" So the guys went over to see what he wanted. Next thing I know, they're running screaming, "Get inside!, He's got a gun!!" So we ran in the store, (my friend Carrie and I) locked the door, and called the police. When I went back to the door to see what was happening, I saw Gary chasing the guys with a gun, he had it pointed at them. Then they all dissapeared, so Carrie and I went outside and the guys were running back saying Gary hit Joe with the gun and kicked him in the eye.
They said Joe went running holding his head and that he was hurt. They said Gary went up Carver St. Then the police went back through and then up to Gary's house. A while later, we saw them taking Gary out of the house. I put an ice pack on Joe's eye and he went to the hospital.

The man yelled at me & Ron H. from the parking lot. We were at Kwik Fill so we walked over up the street to see what he wanted. He started walking to us. He was drunk. He wanted to start a fight with Ron Haskins. Ron H. said he didn't want to fight. the suspect started walking back to Kwik Fill with us. He still wanted to fight, but not in the lights. So Ron and I walked back up the street into the parking lot. Everyone joined in. He just wanted to fight Ron H. Then the guy ran back to his Home. Me and Ron walked back to Kwik Fill. The other guys started walking back up the street. The next thing I knew the (sic) came running around V and J's saying he's got a gun. Everyone ran. I ran behind Kwik Fill. The next time I saw the suspect he was getting on a car and he had a gun a rifle. I was about 25 yards away. Joe Zdarko on his nees (sic) on the ground on the side of the car. the suspect had the gun pointed at him yelling. I ran around the back of Kwik Fill and into Kwik Fill. To tell the attendent to call police. I went back around the station and the next time I saw the suspect was across the street pointing the gun down the street. The suspect ran down the street and I went back into Kwik Fill.
