Dear Mr. Lauffenberger,

This letter will acknowledge receipt of yours dated April 18, 1999 regarding the handling of the Kathy Wilson murder case and the cases involving Michael Rueben Brown. First, let me say that I am impressed with the amount of time and effort you have spent researching the matters of concern identified in your letter.

Currently I am involved in a number of matters at my office which need immediate attention. I have read over your letter and recall prior conversations I have had with you, and also I believe a telephone message from your sister Bonnie. I do not want to give this matter short shrift.

Accordingly, I do not have an answer for you in this correspondence. Rather, I need to get through the matters at my office to which I referred above. When these are concluded I will have the time required to more thoroughly consider and review your letter, and the issues raised therein, and also to visit your website and the materials located there. When I have had a chance to do all of that, I will get back to you with a reply.
