Is a Pharmacist required?
No. The physician license itself confers the dispensing prerogative
(to a doctor’s own patients only).
Who else is doing this?
Currently, about 7% of physicians incorporate point-of-care dispensing.
PTC is now in 9 regional markets. Several hundred doctors have recently
contracted with the company.
Does the physician do the dispensing?
This is not necessary. The patient usually receives the RX from
the front desk.
