RESERVATIONPAYMENT OF FEESTo reserve our staff for your trip contact
Peter Owens by email. Put "Nepal" in
the subject field to bypass SPAM filter. A non-refundable deposit of $200 per person is
required before we can make hotel reservations, book domestic flights and reserve staff
for your trek. We will send you a Bank of America account number to make the deposit. If
you live in a state that does not have Bank of America, we will send you a USA address
where you can send a personal check. The balance of the trip fee is due when you arrive in
Kathmandu (either in cash or travelers checks) or by deposit in a Bank of America branch
before the trip starts (your choice). Cancellations will result in a cancellation fee of
$200 being charged. Print and fill out the Application Form
sign the Liability Release, and FAX it to 1-504-910-6398. If you are in a country other
than the USA and will have trouble making the $200 deposit, please contact us by email.
Deposits are non-refundable but can be transferred without charge
to another trip within one year of their receipt. A second payment is required on some of
the more expensive trips 45 days prior to the trip. The balance of the Land Cost is due
when you arrive in Kathmandu either in US dollars cash or US dollars travelers checks.
The trip fee covers virtually all items once you arrive in Kathmandu (Nepal).
Please note the trip dates given for each trek include travel time leaving from and
returning to the USA or other countries. For people coming from USA or Canada the trip in
general starts 2 days later than the first date upon arrival in Nepal and ends 1 day
before the last date with departure from Nepal, India or Pakistan. Travel from Europe,
Australia and New Zealand takes less time. The Land Cost refers to cost coinciding
with the Trip Dates and does not include international travel to and from Nepal, India or
Pakistan. Refer to the detailed trip description (which can be downloaded from this web
page) for the exact itinerary and details as to what is covered in the trip price. If you
have trouble downloading the detailed trip descriptions for a particular trip, Peter can e-mail it to you as either a text file or
Word 2000 file.
For treks, transportation to the roadhead of the trek and from the end
of the trek back to the hotel are included. The costs of all porters, pack animals, cooks
and guides are also included. All trek meals are included. Tents are provided for camping
treks. The cost of any required Trekking Permit (both regular and restricted area) are
included.
If you are applying as a 'single' there is no Single-Supplement charge
if you are willing to share your hotel room and tent with another member of the same
gender. This applies even if you end up with single accommodations because there are an
odd number of members of your gender. Should you require single accommodation, there is a
single supplement charge of between $100 and $150 depending on trip length.
Not included in the Land Cost is the cost of your passport and the cost
of any visas needed. Not included in the Land Cost is the cost of your international air
travel between your home and Kathmandu or the costs incurred in Bangkok or other stops
enroute to Nepal. Airport departure taxes are not included. Several meals in Kathmandu are
not covered by the trip fee so that you will have the freedom of deciding which of the
plethora of excellent restaurants to sample. Consult the detailed trip description to see
what Kathmandu meals are covered. Items of a personal nature such laundry, soft drinks,
alcoholic beverages, mineral water and tips are not included in the Land Cost.
