EVEREST MOUNTAIN FLIGHT

Every morning many airlines run 1 hour mountain flights giving birds-eye views of the Everest peaks. Many airlines have these flights, but we suggest Buddha Air which has modern USA made Beech 1900C aircraft where all passengers get a window seat and which fly at 25,000 feet. Spring 2003 cost is $111. If no views are possible due to bad weather, the flight gets cancelled and your money fully refunded. We are booking only our clients on this flight at this price.

ROYAL CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK

A possible addition to your trip is a three day two night package to Royal Chitwan National Park. Here you will find a full program of jungle walks and elephant rides where there will be plenty of opportunity to view deer, rhino, wild boar and, with luck, the rarer species such as sloth bear, leopard and the elusive mighty Bengal tiger. More than 350 species of exotic birds are known in the Park, and trained naturalists will accompany you on the jungle walks and elephant rides.  There are two medium priced lodges that we can book you with.  Game viewing is comparable at both lodges. Prices include transport to and from Kathmandu and Chitwan, all meals, 2 nights at the resort, guides, naturalists, elephant rides, canoe trips to view crocodiles and jungle walks.

Island Jungle Resort is at the western end of the park on a large island in the middle of the Narayani River.  It is in the park and away from other lodges.  For groups of 2 or more persons the 2003 cost for a 3 day 2 night package is $200 per person using transportation by private car from Kathmandu to Chitwan and return to Kathmandu and $210 per person from Pokhara to Chitwan and return to Kathmandu.

Fewa Wildlife Resort is slightly east of the middle of the park near several other lodges.  It is just outside the park on the northern bank of the Rapti River and easily reached by the Greenline luxury tourist coach to Chitwan from both Kathmandu and Pokhara.  The 2003 cost for a 3 day 2 night package is $130 per person using Greenline luxury tourist coach. Transport by private vehicle is available for an additional $90 per car (1 to 3 persons) and $115 per van (4 to 6 persons).
