Rosa Alonso is founder and CEO of My Latino Voice, an English-language website that includes an active social community, entertainment, and the world's first and only encyclopedia of Latino culture and history, WikiLatino. She is a leading Latina entrepreneur and innovator in marketing, media and internet industries. Rosa was named “Woman of the Week” by AlPunto.com and has been extensively featured in the media. Previously, she was senior vice president of Edelman Multicultural, vice president of sales and marketing at Latino.com, and senior director of international and multicultural marketing at AT&T Wireless. She is currently featured in the movie Be Blogalicious.

Julio César Caro is an innovative independent film producer possessing the unusual combination of creative management skills and a strong financial background. Recent films include El Cantante, the thriller Duress, and the sci-fi film Hunter Prey. Other films include The Cell and Erskinville Kings. Julio served as Jennifer Lopez’s producing partner at Nuyorican Productions, which had first-look agreements with Columbia Pictures, Fox Television Studios, and Telemundo. Previously, he was a senior vice president at Manufacturers Hanover Trust (now JP Morgan Chase Bank) specializing in asset-based lending and leveraged acquisitions. He is a graduate of Cornell University’s College of Arts and Sciences.

María Agui Carter is an award-winning filmmaker, scholar, and president of Iguana Films, a film and new media company focusing on culture, politics, and history. A graduate of Harvard University, and former staff producer for WGBH Boston, Maria was the only woman director featured in Discovery in Espanol’s Hispanic Heritage Month for her dramatic short, Cleats. Over a dozen of her documentaries have broadcast on public television. She has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University, Tulane and Brandeis, as well as the recipient of Warren, Rockefeller, and CPB fellowships. Her latest production, No Job For a Woman, on women war journalists, opened at the UN Women's Film Festival. Her new film Rebel, a feature dramatized documentary based on the memoir of a Cuban woman soldier of the American Civil War is slated for PBS. She has been a member of the Writer's Guild of America since 2000.

Evelyn Ledesma Galán is vice president of Galán Inc., an award-winning documentary film production company based in Austin, Texas responsible for the documentaries Chicano! History of the Mexican American Civil Rights Movement, Forgotten Americans, Accordion Dreams, the six-episode PBS series “Visiones: Latino Art and Culture,” and many more. She co-produced Los Lonely Boys’ Cottonfields and Crossroads, and most recently, A Migrant’s Masterpiece: The Life and Legacy of Patrick Flores, as well as The Big Squeeze. She is currently in development of The War Within for PBS. Evy founded South Texas’ CineSol Latino Film Festival.

Frank Bennett Gonzalez is director of talent development and diversity for The Disney/ABC Television Group. He runs the company’s prestigious writing program, responsible for the selction, development and staffing of the Dinsey/ABC Program writers and other emerging writers for television shows on ABC, ABC Family, and the Disney Channel. Frank also contributes to the identification of emerging television directors. He spearheaded the creation of the department’s IMPACT Summit, which aims to heighten educators’ awareness of the ever-evolving and changing entertainment industry. Frank also oversees The Institute of American Indian Arts Summer Television & Film Writers Workshop.

Marcos Gonzalez is the president of MCG & Company, a company that provides private equity, M&A and strategy services to a diverse set of companies in education, communications and financial services. He began his career with IBM and then joined The Boston Consulting Group, a top-tier global management consulting firm, after receiving his MBA. Later, he entered the private equity investment industry-first with Bastion Capital and most recently at Darby Private Equity. In both strategy consulting and private equity, Marcos has worked in numerous industries including consumer goods, financial services, media, telecom and renewable energy among others. He received his B.A from Brown University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Dennis Hernandez is an entertainment attorney with over twenty-five years’ experience in the practice of law. He served as vice-president of legal affairs for Univision, and for Fox Television stations. In his practice at Manatt, Phelp and Phillips, and at Baker & Hostetler he represented both large and small producers, as well as talent. In his current practice at Luna & Glushon, he represents various clients in the entertainment industry including small businesses and non-profit organizations. He has a long history of and commitment to promoting Latinos in the entertainment industry.

Elaine Romero is an internationally award-winning playwright (!Curanderas! Serpents of the Clouds, Before Death Comes for the Archbishop, and Walk into the Sea). She was the first author to have her play Barrio Hollywood published in English and Spanish acting editions by Samuel French. Recently, she completed Xochi: Jaguar Princess for the Kennedy Center and The Dalai Lama is Not Welcome Here for InterAct Theatre Company. She is working on a National New Play Network commission to write Ponzi for Kitchen Dog Theater in Dallas. Current theatre productions include Rain of Ruin, Revolutions, and the upcoming A Simple Snow.

Bernardo Ruíz is an award-winning independent filmmaker who recently wrote, directed, and produced a one-hour documentary for PBS’ “American Experience” about Roberto Clemente, an exceptional athlete and committed humanitarian who challenged racial discrimination to become baseball’s first Latino superstar. The film was awarded the 2008 NCLR ALMA Award for Outstanding Made for Television Documentary. Currently, he is producing a feature-length documentary, Gardens of Paradise, which has been supported by the Sundance Documentary Fund and ITVS. Previously, P.O.V. commissioned him to produce Migrations, one of PBS’ first forays into new media storytelling.

José Tillán is the general manager and executive vice-president of MTV Tr3, the most-widely distributed television network dedicated to serving bicultural Latino youth. He oversees the overall content strategy of the channel and the development of branded entertainment. José is also the executive producer of all major productions including the awards show “Los Premios MTV,” and the multi-award winning series “Unplugged.” Previously, José was the senior vice president of creative, content and music at MTV Networks Latin America, responsible for the production, programming, content development and image of the MTV and VH1 networks in Latin America.

Joseph Torres is currently the senior adviser in Washington’s office of Government and External Affairs. He is the co-author of the book “How Long Must We Wait,” which traces the origins of our nation’s media system and the fight by people of color for social justice in the news and communications industries. His journalism credits include Hispanic Link Weekly Report, Hispanic Magazine, and Staten Island Advance. He received a B.S. in Communications, College of Staten Island.

Kirk Whisler is the president of Western Publication Research, Inc., a corporation that includes Latino Print Network, WPR Publishing, and Western Publication Research. He also serves as publisher and executive editor for the Hispanic Marketing 101 newsletter and podcast, and has authored or edited over 20 books on Hispanic marketing. Previously, Kirk served as publisher of Mexico Events & Destinations Magazine, Nevada Magazine, SOMOS, and Caminos Magazine. He serves on the board of Latino Literacy Now, the National Latino Media Council, and the Verified Audit Circulation’s Board of Governors. He is a founding member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

Juan Carlos Zaldivar is a filmmaker and artist. He teaches at the Art Institute at Miami International University, and is senior education coordinator for the Miami International Film Festival, where he is co-curating its new section, Cutting the Edge, featuring video art and cross-discipline work. Juan’s directing credits include the documentaries 90 Miles, The Story of the Red Rose, and Soldiers Pay. Juan’s artwork has been exhibited at numerous galleries including the Chelsea Art Space in London. He is the co-founder of The Florida Room Documentary Film Festival, an event solely dedicated to social issue documentaries. He completed both his BFA and MFA at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
